Unusual, hardy tuberous aroid. One giant divided leaf on top of a 4-5' tall, green and purple mottled, fleshy stalk (petiole).
Plant tubers as far below the soil surface as the tuber is wide, with the rounded side down and pink growing tips up, once the soil has warmed. If in doubt plant it sideways. Plants grow well in containers or in the ground, and can overwinter in the ground in well drained soil but will rot if area stays waterlogged. Tubers bloom in spring once they are about the size of a grapefruit.
